Avon Fire & Rescue Control Staff Course scores 96.4% satisfaction rating.

Critcial-Link recently ran 4 developmental course for Avon Fire & Rescue Service. Their staff magazine says:

“Exploring our critical links

Over the last six weeks, all staff in Control have attended a bespoke two-day course to increase their awareness of threats to national security at global, national, regional and local levels and develop our relationships with multi-agency partners.

The concept for the course was developed and delivered in partnership with Critical-Link Ltd, a consultancy whose staff have been closely involved in delivering specialist training to the emergency services for many years.

The two days included presentations from leading experts in the field of security and crisis management, as well as inputs from the police, ambulance service, South West Counter-Terrorism Intelligence Unit and our own National Inter-agency Liaison Officers (N-ILO). The final day concluded with a table-top exercise to bring together many of the issues considered during the course and allow delegates to consider the challenges of a ‘low probability, high consequence’ event from Control’s perspective.

The overall feedback from the four courses has been overwhelmingly positive with one delegate commenting that “… this is, by far, the best course I have done in 18 years in the fire service – a great insight into other services and organisations and the encouragement to use and expand on our own knowledge was really helpful.”

Assistant Chief Fire Officer Rob Davis said: “I’m delighted that the course has been such a success and the way in which the new concepts introduced by the trainers have been embraced is a real credit to everyone in Control. We’re looking forward to completing the evaluation of the course and then developing the next steps alongside our trusted partners at Critical-Link.”
